The ride starts at Marlwood School, Alveston, near Bristol. The ride will start at 8.45am.
Marlwood School is ideally situated in a quiet, rural area with instant access to the route that all riders will take to reach Aust and the Severn Bridge.
After leaving the school, you will join the B4661 which takes you directly to the Severn Bridge, which you will cross to go to Chepstow.
After passing through Chepstow, you will take the beautiful road towards Raglan. The road starts with a climb up to the village of Devauden before dropping back down on a beautiful road that undulates all the way to Raglan.
After leaving Raglan, you will head towards Abergavenny on the B4598, running parallel to the A40. This is a pleasant stretch of road with little traffic.
Just before reaching Abergavenny, you will join the A40 for about 1 mile as you head into town.
Near the centre of town you will reach your first feed station, situated next to the Bus Station. Decent Public toilets are very close to the feed station location. After passing through the town, you will now head north on the Old Hereford Road, taking you into the Black Mountains. The road climbs continually for 25km out of Abergavenny, eventually taking you over the Gospel Pass at a height of 550m before dropping you back down off the mountain just before Hay on Wye.
