You will split from the Granfondo and Piccolofondo riders in Stroud, so if you are feeling strong or not feeling as good as you would like, here is the place to change the distance you ride if you wish.
We will bypass the centre of Stroud to the south of town and take the road to Minchinhampton. This involves a steep climb up from town to Rodborough Common before taking the undulating road to Cirencester, where the route meets up with the Granfondo route and the second feed station.
You will leave Cirencester and head to Tetbury on the southern fringes of the Cotswolds before tackling the 10km uphill you will find on leaving the town.
Once you have crested that uphill section (it’s not steep, so we won’t class it as a climb) you get a great descent down into Wotton under Edge, where you finally leave the Cotswolds.
There are a couple of short, steep climbs heading back to the finish from Wotton, as you go through Charfield and Tytherington before the last climb out of Thornbury, past the golf course and back to Marlwood School.
You will have ridden 118km and climbed 1289m on the Mediofondo ride.
